The Essential Knowledge

Higher education is an experimental knowledge of the plan of salvation, and this knowledge is
secured by earnest and diligent study of the Scriptures. Such an education will renew the mind
and transform the character, restoring the image of God in the soul It will fortify the mind against the deceptive whisperings of the adversary, and enable us to understand the voice of God.

It will teach the learner to become a co-worker with Jesus Christ, to dispel the moral darkness
about him, and bring light and knowledge to men. It is the simplicity of true godliness-- our
passport from the preparatory school of earth to the higher school above.

There is no education to be gained higher than that given to the early disciples, and which is
revealed to us through the word of God. To gain the higher education means to follow this word
implicitly; it means to walk in the footsteps of Christ, to practice His virtues. It means to give up
selfishness and to devote the life to the service of God. Higher education calls for something
greater, something more divine, than the knowledge to be obtained merely from books. It means
a personal,

experimental knowledge of Christ; it means emancipation from ideas, from habits and practices,
that have been gained in the school of the prince of darkness, and which are opposed to loyalty to
God. It means to overcome stubbornness, pride, selfishness, worldly ambition, and unbelief. It is
the message of deliverance from sin.

God's Efforts to Arouse the People

While at Loma Linda, Calif., April 16, 1906, there passed before me a most wonderful
representation. During a vision of the night, I stood on an eminence, from which I could
see houses shaken like a reed in the wind. Buildings, great and small, were falling to the
ground. Pleasure resorts, theaters, hotels, and the homes of the wealthy were shaken and
shattered. Many lives were blotted out of existence, and the air was filled with the shrieks
of the injured and the terrified.{CL 8.6}


The destroying angels of God were at work. One touch, and buildings so thoroughly
constructed that men regarded them as secure against every danger, quickly became
heaps of rubbish. There was no assurance of safety in any place. I did not feel in any
special peril, but the awfulness of the scenes that passed before me I cannot find words to
describe. It seemed that the forbearance of God was exhausted, and that the judgment day
had come. {CL 9.1}

The angel that stood at my side then instructed me that but few have any conception of
the wickedness existing in our world today, and especially the wickedness in the large
cities. He declared that the Lord has appointed a time when He will visit transgressors in
wrath for persistent disregard of His law. {CL 9.2}

Terrible as was the representation that passed before me, that which impressed itself
most vividly upon my mind was the instruction given in connection with it. The angel
that stood by my side declared that God's supreme rulership, and the sacredness of His
law, must be revealed to those who persistently refuse to render obedience to the King of
kings. Those who choose to remain disloyal, must be visited in mercy with judgments, in
order that, if possible, they may be aroused to a realization of the sinfulness of their

The Church will not Fall

Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail
against it. Matthew 16:18.

Those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus will feel the ire
of the dragon and his hosts. Satan numbers the world as his subjects, he has gained
control of the apostate churches; but here is a little company that are resisting his
supremacy. If he could blot them from the earth, his triumph would be complete.

As he influenced the heathen nations to destroy Israel, so in the near future he will
stir up the wicked powers of earth to destroy the people of God.... Their only hope
is in the mercy of God; their only defense will be prayer.

The trying experiences that came to God’s people in the days of Esther were
not peculiar to that age alone. The revelator, looking down the ages to the close of
time, has declared, “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war
with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the
testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17. Some who today are living on the
earth will see these words fulfilled.

The wrath of Satan increases as his time grows short, and his work of deceit and
destruction will reach its culmination in the time of trouble.

Satan will work his miracles to deceive; he will set up his power as supreme.
The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the
sinners in Zion will be sifted out—the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This
is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place. None but those who have
been overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony will
be found with the loyal and true, without spot or stain of sin, without guile in their
mouths.

God declares that even a mother may forget her child, “yet will I not forget
thee.” ... God thinks of His children with the tenderest solicitude and keeps a book
of remembrance before Him, that He may never forget the children of His care.

LESSON BOOK FOR ALL HUMANITY

For the prophecy, came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.2 Peter 1:21.

God committed the preparation of His divinely inspired Word to
finite man. This Word, arranged into books, the Old and New
Testaments is the guidebook to the inhabitants of a fallen world, bequeathed
to them that by studying and obeying the directions, not
one soul would lose its way to heaven.15

The Bible points to God as its author; yet it was written by
human hands; and in the varied style of its different books it presents
the characteristics of the several writers.

The truths revealed are all “given by inspiration of God” (2 Tim. 3:16);
 yet they are expressed in the words of men. The Infinite One by His Holy Spirit has
shed light into the minds and hearts of His servants He has given
 dreams and visions, symbols and figures; and those to whom the
truth was thus revealed, have themselves embodied the thought in
human language.

The Lord speaks to human beings in imperfect speech, in order
that the degenerate senses, the dull, earthly perception, of earthly
beings may comprehend His words. Thus is shown God’s condescension.

He meets fallen human beings where they are. The Bible,
perfect as it is in its simplicity, does not answer to the great ideas of
God; for infinite ideas cannot be perfectly embodied in finite vehicles
of thought. Instead of the expressions of the Bible being exaggerated,
as many people suppose, the strong expressions break
down before the magnificence of the thought, though the penman
selected the most expressive language through which to convey the
truths of higher education.

God designed the Bible to be a lesson-book to all mankind, in
childhood, youth, and manhood, and to be studied through all time.
He gave His Word to men as a revelation of Himself. . . . It is the
medium of communication between God and man.

PRENATAL INFLUENCES

The effect of prenatal influences is by many parents looked upon as a matter of little moment; but Heaven does not so regard it. The message sent by an angel of God, and twice given in the most solemn manner, shows it to be deserving of our most careful thought.

In the words spoken to the Hebrew mother, God speaks to all mothers in every age. “Let her beware,” the angel said; “all that I commanded her, let her observe.” The well-being of the child will be affected by the habits of the mother. Her appetites and passions are to be controlled by principle. There is something for her to shun, something for her to work against, if she fulfills God’s purpose for her in giving her a child. If before the birth of her child she is self-indulgent, if she is selfish, impatient, and exacting, these traits will be reflected in the disposition of the child. Thus many children have received as a birthright almost unconquerable tendencies to evil.

Kwanza, twataka kujadili hoja hii, Je, Amri Kumi ni nini?

Je, hivi yatupasa sisi kuishi kwa kuzifuata sheria hizi siku hizi?

Twataka kuziangalia kwa makini hizo Amri Kumi kuona ni nini hasa. Zimeandikwa katika Taurati katika Kutoka 20 na Kumbukumbu la Torati 5 la (Vitabu Vitakatifu) na katika Injili yote ya Maandiko ya Biblia.

Mkumbukeni Mstahiki Nabii Muhammad kile alichokifunua katika Kurani Tukufu kwamba Taurati iliyoteremshwa kwa Musa na Injili aliyopewa Isa al-Masih, vyote viwili vilikuwa kwa ajili ya mauidha kwetu. Hivyo kwetu ni uongozi, nuru, na kipimo cha hukumu.

Aya hii katika Taurati hutuambia sisi kwamba Amri Kumi za Mwenyezi
Mungu zilifuatwa na Ibrahimu aliyeishi muda mrefu kabla ya siku za Musa. Hiyo pia inatuambia sisi ya kwamba watu wa nyakati zile za kale waliijua fika sheria ile ile ambayo pia ilirudiwa kwa Musa katika vilele vile virefu vya Mlima Sinai. Iwapo Ibrahimu anafikiriwa kuwa ni “Hanif” kati ya wale ambao kwa unyofu wa moyo wanamkaribia sana

Mwenyezi Mungu, basi, sisi tungefanya vema kukifuata
kielelezo chake Ibrahimu kwa kuzitunza pia Amri Kumi za
Mwenyezi Mungu. Kufanya mambo yawe rahisi, hii
maana yake ni kwamba Ibrahimu aliitunza Siku ya Saba ya
juma kama siku ya ‘kupumzika’ kwa heshima yake
